Young Girl- Gary Puckett and the Union Gap

"You've kept the secret of your youth"

So, I think this guy likes me at work.  He is really a sweet guy, but I don't date in the workplace.....or date guys who look like they are 10 years older than me.....or guys who don't know English very well.  Wait, scratch that, I did date an Italian guy. But, I'm pretty sure he knew much more English than this guy.  Eh, it is kinda cute though lol.

http://naturallyalise.com/blog/2010/10/07/crush/
I learned part of this song from Glee.  Yes, I am a gleek.  But, I am an original gleek, like watched the premiere of the show.  I pretty much only like the first season, the rest suck.  BUT ANYWHO, It's a pretty good song.

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run girl
You're much too young girl

With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe
You're old enough
To give me love
And now it hurts to know the truth, oh

Young girl get out of my mind
my love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, you're much too young girl

Beneath your perfume and make-up
You're just a baby in disguise
And though you know
That it is wrong to be
Alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes, oh

Young girl get outta my mind
My love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, You're much too young girl

So hurry home to your mama
I'm sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here
Before I have the time
To change my mind
'Cause I'm afraid we'll go too far, oh

Young girl get outta my mind
My love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, you're much too young girl

Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely- Backstreet Boys

"How can it be you're asking me to feel things you never show"

Ok, before you freak out, hear me out.  I am seeing the Backstreet Boys with New Kids tonight.  I know, it sounds lame, BUT I was a huge fan when I was a preteen, so it is only fitting that I see them sometime in my life.  So excited though!!!!
http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/backstreet-boys-biography/73228d6cedaf10624825686d0006ecd8
This is my favorite BSB song.  It's typical early 2000s pop drama.  Love it.

Show me the meaning of being lonely

So many words for the broken heart
It's hard to see in a crimson love
So hard to breathe
Walk with me, and maybe
Nights of light so soon become
Wild and free I could feel the sun
Your every wish will be done
They tell me

Show me the meaning of being lonely
Is this the feeling I need to walk with
Tell me why I can't be there where you are
There's something missing in my heart

Life goes on as it never ends
Eyes of stone observe the trends
They never say forever gaze, if only
beauty roads to an endless love (endless love)
There's no control
Are you with me now
Your every wish will be done
They tell me

Show me the meaning of being lonely
Is this the feeling I need to walk with (tell me why)
Tell me why I can't be there where you are
There's something missing in my heart

There's nowhere to run
I have no place to go
Surrender my heart, body and soul
How can it be you're asking me to feel the things you never show

You are missing in my heart
Tell me why can't I be there where you are

Show me the meaning of being lonely
Is this the feeling I need to walk with (tell me why)
Tell me why I can't be there where you are (where you are)
There's something missing in my heart (you are missing in my heart)

Show me the meaning of being lonely (being lonely)
Is this the feeling I need to walk with (tell me why)
Tell me why I (can't be there) can't be there where you are
(where you are)There's something missing in my heart

She Blinded me with Science- Thomas Dolby

"The spheres are in commotion"

I have to do these stupid online labs for my Micro class. They are so dumb! And they take forever. Ugh, only 2 more weeks.

http://www.365halloween.com/halloween-decor/mad-scientist-laboratory-supplies.php
I really don't like this song, but it's the only song I could find about science lol.
It's poetry in motion
She turned her tender eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
but she blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And failed me in biology

When I'm dancing close to her
Blinding me with science,science
I can smell the chemicals
Science
Science

 Bu it's poetry in motion
and when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And failed me in geometry

When she's dancing next to me
Blinding me with science, science
Science
I can hear machinery
Blinding me with science - science
Science

It's poetry in motion
and now she's making love to me
The spheres are in commotion
The elements in harmony
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
And hit me with technology

Good heavens Miss Sakamoto, you're beautiful

I don't believe it
There she goes again
She's tidied up and I can't find anything
all my tubes and wires
And careful notes
And antiquated notions
but, it's poetry in motion
And when she turned her eyes to me
As deep as any ocean
As sweet as any harmony
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with science
She blinded me with

Evening Kitchen- Band of Horses

"I called off my plans, I counted on you"

I bought the Band of Horses Infinite Arms album and it's pretty good.  I originally had bought a Ben Folds album, but the cd inside was foo fighters....hmm.  I bought it from a used cd store (great deals) but I really didn't want a foo fighters cd.  So, I returned it and got this cd.  Some of the songs are a little too 70s for me but overall, its good background, chill music.

http://www.addictmusic.co.uk/news/watch-band-of-horses-playing-evening-kitchen-live/
This song, by far is my favorite.  It is so pretty.  I am such a sucker for slow songs lol.

Drive out with the sun in your eyes
You wasted my time
It's true, it's true

My god, don't you hold out your hand
I called off my plans
I counted on you, on you

And if you're ever left with any doubt
What you live with and what you'll do without
I'm only sorry that it took so long to figure out

Got lost in the places I've been
I should go out with my friends
I'd go tonight but I know you'll be there too, there too

For me, this bottle of wine
Is to slow down my mind
And forget the things that I knew, I knew

And if you're ever left with any doubt
What you live with and what you'll do without
I'm only sorry that it took so long to figure out

Drown- Carolina Liar

"You're a mess but yes you're beautiful"

I gained 10 pounds when I was staying at the hospital with my mom.  Whoops.  So, because I still have 5 lbs to lose (and because I am a nutrition major), I really need to get back into shape.  Good thing my job is very physical.

http://www.case.edu/think/breakingnews/postheartattack.html
This is apparently Carolina Liar's new single.   It is going to be available on iTunes on the 12th.  But, anywho, I really like this band.  Like 2 years ago they got famous, then they disappeard, but yay they're somewhat back again!  Plus, I love the lead singers long luscious locks lol.

So soon you will learn to forget
bad times, the rules and regrets
One day they won't reach for you
So you put the fires you set
As smoke fades from your last cigarette
You're a mess but yes you're beautiful

Oh, come on down
We can drown in this water
It's only gonna set us free
Come on down
We can drown in this water
You've been praying for a remedy

Who really cares for fatal mistakes
Trailer park dreams
don't carry much weight
In the long run you've got nuthing to prove
So go run while you can still get away
Take a breath while it's still yours to take
You're a mess but yes you're beautiful

Oh, come on down
We can drown in this water
It's only gonna set us free
Come on down
We can drown in this water
You've been praying for a remedy

So who really cares if you make a mistake

Oh, come on down
We can drown in this water
It's only gonna set us free
Come on down
We can drown in this water
You've been praying for a remedy

Oh, come on down
We can drown in this water
It's only gonna set us free
Come on down
We can drown in this water
You've been praying for a remedy

Blame it on the Tetons- Modest Mouse

"Language is the liquid that we're all dissolved in"

A coworker is blaming me for the crap that someone else has done.  I will not take that.  I will not take the blame nor clean up someone else's mess.

http://progressivetimes.wordpress.com/2010/06/17/the-art-of-finger-pointing/
I love Modest Mouse.  I think they're a little underrated.  It's like, whenever, they hit mainstream, they lost their indie cred.  But, they are still creating awesome INDIE music.  No reason to abandon them.  This, btw, is my favorite song from them.

Blame it on the Tetons
Yeah, I need a scapegoat now
No my dog won't bite you, though it had the right to
You oughta give her credit cause she knows I would've let it happen

Blame it on the weekends
God, I need a cola now
Oh we mumble loudly, wear our shame so proudly
Wore our blank expressions, trying to look interesting
Blame it all on me cause god I need a cold one now

All them eager actors gladly taking credit
for the lines created by the people tucked away from
sight is just a window from the room we're bound to
If you find a way out, oh would you just let me know how
Would you just let me know how

Blame it on the web
but the spider's your problem now
Language is the liquid that we're all dissolved in
Great for solving problems, after it creates a problem
 Blame it on the Tetons
God, I need a scapegoat now

Everyone's a building burning
with no one to put the fire out
Standing at the window looking out
waiting for time to burn us down
 Everyone's an ocean drowning
with no one really to show how
they might get a little better air
if they turned themselves into a cloud

Good- Better Than Ezra

"Searching for signs of life"

I may be going to a the Better Than Ezra concert tonight, that is if my friend can find me a ride.  He and his band are opening for the band and it seems like it will be pretty cool.  Plus, it's downtown, can't beat that.

http://www.planetware.com/picture/kansas-city-us-ks109.htm
Honestly, this is the only song I know from this band.  But, it's pretty good.

Looking around the house
Hidden behind the window and the door
Searching for signs of life but there's nobody home

Well, maybe I'm just too scared
Maybe I'm just too frightened
by the sound of it
Pieces of note fall down, but the letter said

Aha, it was good living with you
Aha, it was good
Aha, it was good living with you
Aha, it was good

Sitting around the house
watching the sun trace shadows on the floor
Searching for signs of life, but there's nobody home

Well, maybe I'll call or write you a letter
Now, maybe we'll see on the Fourth of July
But I'm not too sure, and I'm not too proud
Well, I'm not too sure and I'm not too proud to say

Aha, it was good living with you
Aha, it was good
Aha, it was good living with you
Aha, it was good

Yeah, you were so good
Yeah you were so good, yeah that's right

I Want You (She's So Heavy)- Taddy Porter

I want a Zune so bad.  Specifically a Zune HD 32 gb.  It is so cool! I have an ipod 32 gb classic and I hate it.  Plus I think apple is a conspiracy.  So, I am now saving 15 dollars a week and I should be able to get in about 8 weeks.  Yay!

http://gizmodo.com/5272228/zune-hd-hands-on-photos-and-video-tour
Now, I realize this song is originally by the Beatles, and it is great, but I saw Taddy Porter live (and got to meet Andy) and they are amazing!  So much better than the original, I think.   Sorry Beatles.

I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me mad
I want you
I want you so bad babe
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me mad
I want you
I want you so bad babe
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me mad
I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me
She’s so heavy heavy, heavy, heavy

She's so heavy
She's so heavy, heavy, heavy

I want you
I want you so bad
I want you
I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me mad
I want you
You know I want you so bad babe
I want you
You know I want you so bad
It’s driving me mad, it’s driving me mad
Yeah

She’s so

Psycho Killer- Talking Heads

"I hate people when they're not polite"

Casey Anthony. Wow.

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20253947,00.html
Talking Heads are pretty cool. And I like any song that features French.

I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me I'm a real live wire

Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
fFa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

You start a conversation you can't even finish it
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed
Say something once, why say it again?

Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

Ce que j'ai fais, ce soir la
Ce qu'elle a dit, ce soir la
Realisant mon espoir
Je me lance, vers la gloire ... Ok
We are vain and we are blind
I hate people when they're not polite

Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away
Psycho killer
Qu'est-ce que c'est
Fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better
Run run run run run run run away

Fireworks- Polock

"Oh, the countdown is on"

Happy 4th of July errbody! I love this holiday.  Mostly because of the fireworks (I can't count how many times I have been burned) and the bbqs (I'm from KC, bbq is our life). Food is good.  Be careful everyone and have fun!

http://blogs.bootsnall.com/Leaott/tag/indie-travel-podcast-articles
This song is really fun.  I discovered it through Amazon's free download of the day. Love it.  Plus, I love any song that reteaches you how to count.

One two three four five
We are young and proud
Sitting at the edge of the world
To see the fireworks

Take it easy now
'cause my rules have come
Let me handle this affair
Oh, the countdown is on

Always breaking your heart
Nothing is gonna change our friends
I think that here we'll be safe
Yes or no
Decide 'cause it ain't so hard

One two three four five
We are far from home
Everybody wants to go
To see the fashion show

Take it easy now
We could change our lives
Maybe I should call her up
To see the fireworks

Always breaking your heart
Nothing is gonna change our friends
I think that here we'll be safe
Yes or no
Decide 'cause it ain't so hard

This life's great new movement
Please just get out of the way
That's what you said
They made it complicated
Then at last
We only left and forgave them all

The Ghost Inside- Broken Bells

"A double standard you invoke when you want"

I have been searching for this song for weeks, and NOW I HAVE FOUND IT! I seriously looked everywhere to try to find out what song this is (I hear on the radio) but I could never understand what the guy was singing so I couldn't type in any lyrics to search.  BUT I FOUND IT! Such a great day.

http://www.dreamstime.com/stock-photography-one-extremely-happy-man--image2445732
I like this song mostly because the lead singer sounds like a girl.  And it's in my range so if my band ever does it I won't have to take it an octave higher like I do most songs.  Plus, it's pretty catchy.  The lyrics may be wrong. Sorry

She sold her love to a modern man
Cause solid currency's the hardest to lend
All that money helps you cover your eyes
Don't let the lady finger blow in your hand

Did it all
For that dollar
She's a star tonight
Without warning
She gave up the ghost inside

Just like a whiskey bottle drained on the floor
She got no future just a love to endure
This gives some matter to shaking her hide
"Too Late to Leave Him" are the songs in her car

Give it up
For that dollar
She's a star tonight
Without warning
She gave up the ghost inside

You call it chivalry
Never pull a punch for free
You ever wonder why they had to move on
This phony honor code
That puts you on your throne
A double standard
You invoke when you want

For that dollar
She's a star tonight
Without warning
She gave up the ghost inside

Was it all for show
Don't turn into one of them
Turn another page
Trust me darling
I'm carving them up through the dust in your town
Crawling over rubble
Just to sort it out
Now I tend to wonder why

Education- Pearl Jam

"The truth, it becomes you"

I have a 104% in my Microbiology class right now.....pretty proud.  It was at 150% but obviously that would eventually go down.  This class isn't exactly fun but I have to take it for my major, so I might as well do well in it.

http://cutcaster.com/print/100042958-Nerdy-Girl/
I love Pearl Jam, mostly for Eddie Vedder's voice.  SOO deep.  But yeah, they are my favorite grunge band.

I'm questioning my education
Is my education all I am now?
While you're deciding I've been finding
Looking around in the here and now

If I'd been taught from the beginning
Would my fears now be winning?

I'm questioning my own equation
Is my own equation relevant somehow
The flags will wave and the news is breaking
See the man who can't pick out his own tie

If I'd been taught from the beginning
Would my fears now be winning?
A wild world, figured out the answers
I'll be in my own, dancing out, out yeaaah

I'm questioning my education
Rewinding, what does it show?
Could be, the truth, it becomes you
I'm a seed wondering why I'm grown
