A Real Hero- College feat. Electric Youth

"You have proved to be a real human being"

I saw Drive last night and I am in love with it....and even more in love with the soundtrack.  Oh, and Ryan Gosling, he's such a babe.  Anywho, the soundtrack has this awesome 80s vibe with synths and everything.  The movie also is very vintage but really modern.  It's got love, gore, action scenes, awesome camera angles, real character development, extra drawn out awkward silences.  Perfection, I think.  I especially love Goslings' character (who has no name).  He is gentle, subtle, caring but can beat up some ass if need be.  Really great directing and acting.  In love with this movie.

This song was presented during the credits.  It was a little hard to hear over all the people who did not understand the complexity of the movie and were complaining on how it sucked, but still noticable.  Real 80s synth, man.  Fit the movie perfectly.  BAH I LOVE IT

A real human being and a real hero

Back against the wall and ours
With the strength of a willing to cause
A pursuit some called outstanding
Or emotionally complex

Against a grain
Left to stop at claims
Of all the thoughts your actions entertaining
And you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero

A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being

A planet on a cold, cold morn’
155 people or more
All safe and all rescued
From the slowly sinking ship

What are warmer than
His head so cool
And type I knew what to do
And you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero

A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being
A real human being
Real human being

Dig- Incubus

"We all have someone that digs at us"

On August 19, I went Buzz Beach Ball, an alternative music festival in my hometown.  At this concert, I saw The Givers, Middle Class Rut, AWOLNATION, Tom Morello and the Nightwatchmen,Neon Trees, Bush, Jane's Addiction, and my all time favorite band, Incubus.  I was at the very front, one person away from being against the railing, and experienced my first mosh pit.  Oh the joys of a mosh pit.  Bruises galore, but worth it to see beautiful Brandon Boyd up close.

This is one my favorite Incubus songs.  I prefer their slower stuff, but love it all the same.  I believe Brandon Boyd has one of the best voices in music today.  So clear and pretty.  He and the band are great live.

We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify
Look me in the eye
and ask for forgiveness
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
Yes, you are my friend
We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh

We all have a sickness
that cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try
We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other.
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other
When everything else is gone

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other
When everything else is gone

Young Girl- Gary Puckett and the Union Gap

"You've kept the secret of your youth"

So, I think this guy likes me at work.  He is really a sweet guy, but I don't date in the workplace.....or date guys who look like they are 10 years older than me.....or guys who don't know English very well.  Wait, scratch that, I did date an Italian guy. But, I'm pretty sure he knew much more English than this guy.  Eh, it is kinda cute though lol.

I learned part of this song from Glee.  Yes, I am a gleek.  But, I am an original gleek, like watched the premiere of the show.  I pretty much only like the first season, the rest suck.  BUT ANYWHO, It's a pretty good song.

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run girl
You're much too young girl

With all the charms of a woman
You've kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe
You're old enough
To give me love
And now it hurts to know the truth, oh

Young girl get out of my mind
my love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, you're much too young girl

Beneath your perfume and make-up
You're just a baby in disguise
And though you know
That it is wrong to be
Alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes, oh

Young girl get outta my mind
My love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, You're much too young girl

So hurry home to your mama
I'm sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here
Before I have the time
To change my mind
'Cause I'm afraid we'll go too far, oh

Young girl get outta my mind
My love for you is way outta line
Better run girl, you're much too young girl

Education- Pearl Jam

"The truth, it becomes you"

I have a 104% in my Microbiology class right now.....pretty proud.  It was at 150% but obviously that would eventually go down.  This class isn't exactly fun but I have to take it for my major, so I might as well do well in it.

I love Pearl Jam, mostly for Eddie Vedder's voice.  SOO deep.  But yeah, they are my favorite grunge band.

I'm questioning my education
Is my education all I am now?
While you're deciding I've been finding
Looking around in the here and now

If I'd been taught from the beginning
Would my fears now be winning?

I'm questioning my own equation
Is my own equation relevant somehow
The flags will wave and the news is breaking
See the man who can't pick out his own tie

If I'd been taught from the beginning
Would my fears now be winning?
A wild world, figured out the answers
I'll be in my own, dancing out, out yeaaah

I'm questioning my education
Rewinding, what does it show?
Could be, the truth, it becomes you
I'm a seed wondering why I'm grown
