The Sound of Settling- Death Cab for Cutie

"If you've got an impulse let it out"

I will never settle for what doesn't make me happy.  I know what I want in life and I can't respect myself if I search and find only second best.  I'm tired of having to explain my actions and decisions. I love myself and can only love myself if I am confident in who I am.  If I settle, that implies that I am not confident enough in myself to give myself the best.  Why would I want to live an incomplete life? I have been in several situations where settling seemed so much easier than dealing with the truth, but I chose to be happy instead.

This song works out pretty good for how I feel today.  It's one of the only songs I like by Death Cab.  However, it is still overplayed.

I've got a hunger
Twisting my stomach into knots
That my tongue has tied off

My brain's repeating
"If you've got an impulse let it out"
But they never make it past my mouth.

Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba
Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba

Our youth is fleeting
Old age is just around the bend
And I can't wait to go gray

And I'll sit and wonder
Of every love that could've been
If I'd only thought of something charming to say

Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba.
Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba
Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba
Bop ba,Bop ba, this is the sound of settling
Bop ba, Bop ba

I've got a hunger twisting my stomach into knots
