A Real Hero- College feat. Electric Youth

"You have proved to be a real human being"

I saw Drive last night and I am in love with it....and even more in love with the soundtrack.  Oh, and Ryan Gosling, he's such a babe.  Anywho, the soundtrack has this awesome 80s vibe with synths and everything.  The movie also is very vintage but really modern.  It's got love, gore, action scenes, awesome camera angles, real character development, extra drawn out awkward silences.  Perfection, I think.  I especially love Goslings' character (who has no name).  He is gentle, subtle, caring but can beat up some ass if need be.  Really great directing and acting.  In love with this movie.

http://brusimm.com/movie-review-drive-2011-starring-ryan-gosling/
This song was presented during the credits.  It was a little hard to hear over all the people who did not understand the complexity of the movie and were complaining on how it sucked, but still noticable.  Real 80s synth, man.  Fit the movie perfectly.  BAH I LOVE IT

A real human being and a real hero

Back against the wall and ours
With the strength of a willing to cause
A pursuit some called outstanding
Or emotionally complex

Against a grain
Left to stop at claims
Of all the thoughts your actions entertaining
And you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero

A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being

A planet on a cold, cold morn’
155 people or more
All safe and all rescued
From the slowly sinking ship

What are warmer than
His head so cool
And type I knew what to do
And you have proved to be
A real human being and a real hero

A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being and a real hero
A real human being
A real human being
Real human being

All Worked Out- Semisonic

"She's got a long head start on your brain"

I'm starting an awesome work out routine today.  I really need to get in shape.  I'm skinny but as weak as a baby.  Time to buckle down.

http://www.health.com/health/gallery/0,,20331233,00.html
I love this dude's falsetto.  Falsetto is an awesome skill.  Plus, I like the accidental notes.  Kind of remind me of some the Spring Awakening music.  Theater nerd!

She's got it all worked out in her mind
And you're part of the plan
And you don't have the final word

She's got a long head start on your brain
And your heart is afraid
And you don't get to say you're thinking

Come on make it easy now
Come on make it easy on us all
Come on make it easy now or tears may fall

She's got it all worked out I'm afraid
And your time is arranged
And it's strange but you're feeling fine

She's got it all worked out I'm afraid
And your life is arranged
And it's strange but you're feeling fine

I'm Not Sleeping- Counting Crows

"Spend my nights in self defense"

I'm so sleepy. I went out last night and woke up early this morning.  You know that saying that in college you have to choose two out of the three: sleep, good grades, a social life?  Yeah, I choose good grades and a social life.  I can always take naps if need be.

https://www.universitylifecafe.org/bookshelf/sleep-deprivation/
I love the Counting Crows and have fallen madly in love with this song.  They almost sound like Oasis in this.  Love the orchestra, the beatles-esque guitar riffs, and the actual melodic line.  Really great song from the Counting Crows.

She comes to me at night when I'm sleeping
She comes to me when I'm alone
She comes to me, she holds my hand when I'm crying
She comes to me, she shuts my eyes
She brings me home

But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
She tells me when you look at me, she tells me when you're lying
She tells me when you talk about me, she lays me on the floor
She tells me when you're whispering, she lies beside me naked
She tells me when you laugh at me and she locks all the doors

But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
1,2,3,4,5,6 a.m.
All alone again
But I've been through all this shit before
Spend my nights in self defense
Cry about my innocence
But I ain't all that innocent anymore, more, more
I see her on the TV, I see her in the movies
I see her in these animals that dance beside my bed
I'll follow you down baby, down into this valley
I'll follow you down baby, but I won't come up again
But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
But I'm not sleeping anymore, anymore
I'm not sleeping
I'm not sleeping anymore

I said rain rain go away
come again some other day
cause I got all this shit to say
but I've gone back to find my way
My sister's mother's favorite son
lost among the chosen ones
but I've got news for everyone
cause I've gone out that door

100K- The Loved Ones

"Your eyes are bloodshot from staring at the sun"

Post 100! So exciting! You know what else is exciting???? I'm going out tonight.  Don't worry, it won't be a repeat of last week.

http://karensbooksandchocolate.blogspot.com/2011/05/100-followers-giveaway.html
This song is a good alternative punk song.  I actually had a lot of trouble trying to find a song with 100 in the titile.  Plenty of 99s, but not many 100s.

Are you okay? Are you alright?
Another bad dream kept you up all night
You've ground your teeth down to the gums
Your eyes are bloodshot from staring at the sun
You say you're okay, you're keeping the pace
but the damage done is written all over your face

Given the chance, I'd rather rot in hell
than see you fade, selling the lies they tell
We'll burn the house down and break the spell this time
It's time

So what do you say? We'll go tonight
We'll take a load of bad drugs and stay up all night
We'll ride away, sleep were we fall
We'll slit our own throats, bathe in the waterfall

And I can see it all over your face
You've been numb for days and days
Your back is breaking under the load
Your head is pounding like its ready to explode

Given the chance, I'd rather rot in hell
than see you fade, selling the lies they tell
We'll burn the house down and break the spell this time
It's time

Dig- Incubus

"We all have someone that digs at us"

On August 19, I went Buzz Beach Ball, an alternative music festival in my hometown.  At this concert, I saw The Givers, Middle Class Rut, AWOLNATION, Tom Morello and the Nightwatchmen,Neon Trees, Bush, Jane's Addiction, and my all time favorite band, Incubus.  I was at the very front, one person away from being against the railing, and experienced my first mosh pit.  Oh the joys of a mosh pit.  Bruises galore, but worth it to see beautiful Brandon Boyd up close.

http://jessicajjohnston.com/folio/?p=531
This is one my favorite Incubus songs.  I prefer their slower stuff, but love it all the same.  I believe Brandon Boyd has one of the best voices in music today.  So clear and pretty.  He and the band are great live.

We all have a weakness
But some of ours are easy to identify
Look me in the eye
and ask for forgiveness
We'll make a pact to never speak that word again
Yes, you are my friend
We all have something that digs at us
At least we dig each other
So when weakness turns my ego up
I know you'll count on the me from yesterday

If I turn into another,
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh

We all have a sickness
that cleverly attaches and multiplies
No matter how we try
We all have someone that digs at us
At least we dig each other.
So when sickness turns my ego up
I know you'll act as a clever medicine

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other
When everything else is gone

If I turn into another
Dig me up from under what is covering
The better part of me
Sing this song
Remind me that we'll always have each other
When everything else is gone

Oh, each other
When everything else is gone
Oh, each other
When everything else is gone

All Over Town- The Kooks

"There are people who would undermine me if they could"

I was running around campus like a mad woman today.  I got to my first class, realized I forgot my computer, and had turn around to get and practically run to get to my class in time.  And then after choir, I had to pretty much run to class within 10 mins because it is on the other side of campus.  My glutes got a great workout today.

http://www.hercampus.com/school/tcnj/exposed-tcnjs-best-kept-secrets
I love this song and the Kooks.  I am so happy to see that they have released a new album.  I really like their new song Junk of the Heart.  Classic Kooks.

Dear sir, did I see you fleeting?
I can’t feel heart but not for it beating
You tried to put a frown on me, fell me down
You’re spreading bad things about me all over town
But I’ll show no frown

Because all over town, yes all over town
There are people who would undermine you if they could
Don’t let them in

What do you see when you see me, sir?
The very same thing that makes you bitter
So you’ll say all these outrageous things, that’s what you do
Yes, but you’re no poet man
You just want everyone looking at you
So I’ll show no frown

Because all over town yes all over this town
There are people who would undermine you if they could
Don’t let them in

Oh, all over town, yes all over this town
There are people who would undermine me if they could
Won’t let them in

No Time- The Guess Who

"No time for my watch and chain"

Oh geez, I am busy.  I am taking 18 credit hours, in 5 organizations, doing community service hours, hopefully doing the school musical soon, and on top of all of that, I need a job, joining a sorority next semester, and still trying to keep us a social life.  I'm starting to think I'm spreading myself too thin.

http://www.mixpakrecords.com/blog/2010/11/page/4/
I love 60s/early 70s rock.  Seriously, they were genius.  Somehow, they all had a great tune that was substantial and catchy.  It's timeless.  I remember my dad listening to this song all the time when I was a kid.  I love the lead's scratchy voice.  Who can forget American Woman?

No time left for you
On my way to better things
No time left for you
I found myself some wings
No time left for you
Distant roads are calling me
No time left for you

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There’s no time left for you
No time left for you.

No time left for you
On my way to better things
No time left for you
I found myself some wings
No time left for you
Distant roads are calling me
No time left for you

No time for a gentle rain
No time for my watch and chain
No time for revolving doors
No time for the killing floor
No time for the killing floor
There’s no time left for you
No time left for you

No time for a summer friend
No time for the love you send
Seasons change and so did I
You need not wonder why
You need not wonder why
There’s no time left for you
No time left for you

No time, no time, no time, no time
No time, no time, no time, no time

I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no time
No, no, no, no, no, no, no time
I got, got, got, got no time
No, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no time
I got no time, got no time, got no time, got no time, got no time
Got no time, got no time

Clark Gable- The Postal Service

"I've been waiting since birth to find a love that would look and sound like a movie"

I am currently reading Gone With the Wind and I am absolutely in love with it.  It is one of my favorite movies and soon to be one of my favorite books.  My favorite character, of course, is Rhett.  I love him.  "You should be kissed and by somebody who knows how." Like, who says that?? Rhett Butler, that's who.  I have always said that I want a man that is as ridiculous as me but as smooth as Clark Gable/Rhett Butler (we all know they are practically the same person.)  He is my favorite old movie star (followed by Montgomery Clift and Gene Kelly) and Rhett is soon to be my new favorite fictional character (followed by Sodapop and Atticus Finch.)

http://www.swingfashionista.com/tag/clark-gable/

When I listen to the Postal Service, I always think of Grey's Anatomy.  That seemed to be the time where all music was this electronic indie thing.  But I really do love the lyrics to this song.  I find it so inventive and awesome that someone finds Clark Gable as romantically smooth as me.

I was waiting for a cross-town train in the
London underground when it struck me
that I've been waiting since birth to find a
love that would look and sound like a movie
So I changed my plans, I rented a camera and
a van and then I called you
I need you to pretend that we are in love again
and you agreed too

I want so badly to believe
that there is truth, that love is real
and I want life in every word to the extent
that it's absurd

I greased the lens and framed the shot using
a friend as my stand-in
The script it called for rain but it was clear
that day so we faked it
The marker snapped and I yelled quiet on the set
and then called action
Ad I kissed you in a style clark gable would have admired
I thought it classic

I want so badly to believe that
there is truth, that love is real
And I want life in every word to the extent
that it's absurd
I know you're wise beyond your years, but
do you ever get the feel
that your perfect verse is just a lie
you tell yourself to help you get by?

Sun Hands- Local Natives

"My hands are blessed to have touched the sun"

I downloaded Local Natives' Gorilla Manor album the other day and it is by far one the best albums I have ever heard.  It is up there with Jeff Buckley's Grace.  That's pretty good in my book.  They are so amazing.  I want to see them live so bad now! Oh, btw, you may be wondering why I don't have a song or post for saturday (or you probably don't care enough to notice.) Funny thing, I switched to the "new blogger template" thingy and I apparently didn't click post when I was done writing it.  My bad.

http://prettymuchamazing.com/news/download-local-natives-stems-remix-local-natives-songs
Sun hands is my absolute favorite on this album.  Airplanes is second.  But, I actually discovered Sun Hands almost 2 years ago.  It was a free download from emusic and I have loved it ever since.  AND NOW I HAVE THE ALBUM!  I really love the catchy tunes, the emotion, the lead singer's voice, the harmonies, and the great percussion and orchestrations on this album.  I am absolutely in love.

I climbed to the top of a hill
but I had just missed the sun
and although the descending arc was gone
left behind were the traces that always follow along

The most beautiful colors chase the sun
They wrap her trail in a taunting gesture
that seems to sing out loud
"This is what you're missing"
I'll endure the night
for the promise of light
I'll endure the night
for the promise of light

I want to lift my hands towards the sun
Show me warmth
Baby, won't you show me warmth again?
And when I can feel with my sun hands
I'll promise not to lose her again
and even if the morning never comes
my hands are blessed to have touched the sun, the sun
I'll endure the night
for the promise of light
I'll endure the night
for the promise of

And when I can feel with my sun hands
I promise not to lose her again
And when I can feel with my sun hands
I promise not to lose her again
And when I can feel with my sun hands
I promise not to lose her again
And when I can feel with my sun hands
I promise not to lose her again

I'll endure the night
for the promise of light
I'll endure the night
for the promise of

Drunk or Dead- The New Amsterdams

"Live to wreck another day"

I got pretty drunk last night....and (don't make fun of me) it was my first time being drunk.  I have been tipsy before but never drunk.  I have some medical conditions that make getting drunk a little dangerous if done improperly.  So, in other words, this won't happen a lot.  But, hey, I was a college kid at a frat party.  Sue me.

http://thetalkingmirror.com/one-word-answers-from-fratboy-chad
I have just recently discovered this song.  It is pretty good.  I like the acoustic guitar and the fact that they have correctly introduced brass band without being tacky.  The New Amsterdams kind of remind me of a band that would be huge in the 90s. That whole Gin Blossoms/ Wallflowers thing going on.  PLUS they are from my sister state, Kansas, so they're pretty cool in my book.

Little did I know it then
The pictures on the heads of pins
Be easier than living is
Easier to watch you die

Lost what little luck was left
It's not enough to pay the rent
Not enough to force repentance
Not enough to make you pray

And don't tell me about the sins of man
I've felt the sting of God's right hand

I find him after school in bed
And don't know if he's drunk or dead
A slow but steady breath means
Live to wreck another day

It's terrible to cross my mind
That I should do him in this time
And I could find a better life
Become a burden on the state

You can't run when it's all you know
You'll just have to wait to go

And you can't hurt me cause I've been true
Your horrid life caught up to you

But I got bruises that you can't see
If there's a god, take him from me

Couldn't find a video for this song. SO SORRY

To All the Crowded Rooms- Senses Fail

"Tired and desperate"

I went to Walmart and Hy-vee today before dinnertime. Bad idea.  I was in Walmart for 45 mins for only 4 items, and in Hyvee I almost went ape shit on all the rude, inconsiderate people who place their cart in the MIDDLE of the aisle.  I really don't think grocery shopping is good for my blood pressure.  Also, did you know that you can't return DVDS to Walmart because of copyright laws? Great, now I have a scratched up version of Rocky Horror.  I'm really just being a wuss right now because I actually had a pretty good day besides that.

http://catholicpathways.com/blog/?attachment_id=971
This is just a good ol' alternative song.  Nothing really too spectacular.  But it's good music to listen to while doing stuff, I think.  Wow, that sounds mean.  That is definitely not my mission.  Sorry. I do like it though.

I don't lie
I love you all
I do
To all of you dancing
Just don't be afraid to fall
It's true

We will capture you
In open arms
When you're tired and alone

My life is better than it ever was
My life is better than it ever was

I'll give blood
To your dry veins
We do this for the passion
And not for the fashion or fame

We will capture you
In open arms
When you're tired and alone

My life is better than it ever was
My life is better than it ever was

This could be your home when you're all alone
Tired and desperate
My life is better than it ever was

To all the crowded rooms I say
You gave me a home anyway

I'll give blood to your dry veins
I'll give blood to your dry veins

To all the crowded rooms I say
to your dry veins
To all the crowded rooms I say
you gave me a home anyway

My life is better than it ever was
My life is better than it ever was
This could be your home when you're all alone
Tired and desperate
This could be your home when you're all alone
Tired and desperate

Rise Above 1- Reeve Carney ft. Bono, the Edge

"I still hang on every word"

I am in love with Reeve Carney.  AND I JUST FOUND THAT HE WILL BE PLAYING JEFF BUCKLEY IN THE UPCOMING BIOPIC!!!!!! Bah. so perfect.  I would have chosen James Franco initially, but this guy is pretty awesome.  Unlike the upcoming movie "Greetings from Tim Buckley," this movie is actually fully supported by Mary Guibert, so you it is going to be extrememly accurate.  Again, though, I would like to emphasize that I am a little concerned for the sudden interest in J-Buck.  I am afraid he is going become a product, instead of the genius that he is.  Also, I'm sure he didn't want this to ever happen.  He said once in an interview when asked what he wants to be remembered as "a friend." He also wanted the music to be remembered.  So, I'm guessing he didn't want to be glorified by Hollywood or the music industry, even though he should rightfully be.

http://www.spinner.com/2011/08/16/jeff-buckley-biopic-reeve-carney/
This song is alright.  I wish Reeve would sing more in it.  It's on VH1, so maybe more people will become accustomed to his name.  Regardless, he is an awesome singer, very similar, but raspier, to Jeff Buckley.

And you said rise above
Open your eyes up
And you said rise above
But I can't, I can't

How long will it take
Before these feelings, go away
How much longer must I wait
And are there any real answers, anyway, yeah

Your silence in a crowded room
Louder than the loudest tune
I hang on every word

And you said rise above
Open your eyes up
And you said rise above
But I can't, I can't

I miss you in everything
I was too fast travelling
To take you in
I know that silence is no crime
Just wish I could hear you fill it up
One more time

Yeah, I know what you'd say to me
Exactly what you'd say to me
I still hang on every word

And you said rise above
Open your eyes up
And you said rise above
Yourself

In a time of treason
Is there time for trust
Where there's no them
Only us
Is there time for reason?
Has your heart had enough?
Is it time to let go
And rise above?

And you said rise above
Open your eyes to love
And you said rise above
Yourself

The Cold Part- Modest Mouse

"I stepped down as president of Antartica"

It is a blustery day out today.  I guess fall is almost here, which is really strange because yesterday I was sweating on the way to class and today I was freezing.  I'm tellin' ya, weather black hole of the midwest.

http://biodork.wordpress.com/tag/winter/
I actually really love Modest Mouse.  I feel they are really underrated.  I guess people think they are really weird, but if you really listen to the music, there are some great musical elements.  This one features a violin (which I love) and some really cool note accidentals.

So long to this cold, cold part of the world
So long to this cold, cold part of the world
So long to this bone bleached part of the world
So long to this cold, cold part of the world
So long to this salt soaked part of the world
I stepped down as president of Antarctica

Can't blame me, don't blame me, don't
So long to this sad, sad part of the world
So long, So long

Long, Long, Long- The Beatles

"How can I ever misplace you?"

Ugh, such a long day.  I was on campus from 9:45 until 4:15, without any breaks.  I seriously hate Tuesdays. Someone needs to write a song about that.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/16/falling-asleep-in-class-b_n_151362.html
I really like the Beatles' White Album.  I kinda think they are overrated (blasphemous, I know) but that album is actually really great.  I think they had their best melodies by far on that album.

It's been a long long long time
How could I ever have lost you
When I loved you?

It took a long long long time
Now I'm so happy I found you
How I love you

So many tears I was searching
So many tears I was wasting
Oh, oh

Now I can see you, be you
How can I ever misplace you?
How I want you
Oh I love you
You know that I need you
Ooh I love you

Stay Away- The Honorary Title

"Separate yourself from what compels you to relinquish us"

Sorry it's been a few days.  I had a crazy busy weekend.  Went to Blink-182 concert (which was actually more awesome than I thought it would be) and the ren fest.  In other news, my creeper ex has recontacted me after I THOUGHT I had gotten rid of him.  Seriously, we were together for 2 weeks, 4 MONTHS AGO. And he still isn't over me.  Seriously getting creeped out.  Just go away man, I'd rather be single than be with you.

http://www.juststunguns.com/pepper-spray/
I just found this song on my itunes (I know, I should probably know my library better) and its pretty catchy.  I like the dude's voice.  And the falsetto background singers.  Gotta love male supremes.

Are you not the slightest bit confused
Just the truth
The speed at which we move blends so well
It's too soon

Separate yourself from what compels you to relinquish us
Push your weight on to me entirely
Stay away from me, stay away from me now
Less you're gonna see, Less you're gonna see me out

No, I can't dance less it's slow or sad
To a song that’s far less obvious
If you're using me, do it slowly
Make it last until I have to go

Trust me when I say just a few more weeks
Don’t move
Resist temptation
Or do you see fit, just choose

Separate yourself from what compels you to relinquish us
Push your weight on to me entirely
Stay away from me, stay away from me now
Less you're gonna see, Less you're gonna see me out

No, I can't dance unless it's slow or sad
To a song that’s far less obvious
If you're using me, do it slowly
Make it last until I have to go

No, I can't dance unless it's slow or sad (Did you notice?)
To a song that’s far less obvious (Did you notice?)
If you're using me, do it slowly (Did you notice?)
Make it last until I have to go (Did you notice that I?)

No, I can't dance unless it's slow or sad (Did you notice?)
To a song that’s far less obvious (Did you notice?)
If you're using me, do it slowly (Did you notice?)
Make it last until I have to go (Did you notice that I?)

Stay away from, stay away from, stay away from me
Stay away from, stay away from, stay away from me
Stay away from, stay away from me

Rock Lobster- The B-52s

"Pass the tanning butter"

I'm really burned, sunburned that is.  I went to the local lake and beach on monday (tried my hand at "labor day activities") and I thought "HEY, I think will lay out and tan!" Funny thing is, I'm really pale, blonde, blue eyed.  Polish.  My home country doesn't see the sun much.  We are almost allergic to it.  So, long story short, I am burned to a crisp.  BUT my arms tanned.  Yet, my cleavage is purple red. PURPLE RED. Bad. Do you know how uncomfortable, awkward, and embarrassing it is to have a sunburnt cleavage? VERY MUCH SO.

http://www.urlesque.com/2009/07/13/unsightly-sunburn-photos-on-flickr/

I do love the B-52s.  I find the redhead's voice is most entertaining. Scratch that, the guy's voice is most entertaining.  But I do love singing with the redhead!

We were at a party
His ear lobe fell in the deep
Someone reached in and grabbed it
It was a rock lobster

We were at the beach
Everybody had matching towels
Somebody went under a dock
And there they saw a rock
It wasn't a rock
It was a rock lobster

Motion in the ocean
His air hose broke
Lots of trouble
Lots of bubble
He was in a jam
Sittin a giant clam
Down, down

Underneath the waves
Mermaids waving
Waving to mermen
Waving sea fans
Sea horses sailing
Dolphins wailing

Red snappers snapping
Clam shells clapping
Muscles flexing
Flippers flipping
Down, down
Let's rock!

Boy's in bikinis
Girls in surfboards
Everybody's rocking
Everybody's frugging

Twisting 'round the fire
Having fun
Baking potatoes
Baking in the sun

Put on your noseguard
Put on the lifeguard
Pass the tanning butter

Here comes a stingray
There goes a manta-ray
In walked a jelly fish
There goes a dogfish
Chased by a catfish
In flew a sea robin
Watch out for that piranha
There goes a narwhale
Here comes a bikini whale

The First Day of My Life- Bright Eyes

"You felt as if you just woke up"

So, since I didn't have access to my blog when I moved into my apartment, I wasn't able to post this song for that monumental day.  I cried when I moved out of my house, but it's time.  I need to live away from my parents, and pretty much on my own.  I'm starting my life, now.

Bright Eyes kind of cracks me up.  His voice is kinda ridiculous (as he mentions in Road to Joy) but so fitting.  They really just have awesome musicality and lyrics.  Really love them.  I think this song was featured on a commercial where I heard it first.  Not quite sure though.  Regardless, its awesome.

This is the first day of my life
I Swear I was born right in the doorway
I went out in the rain
Suddenly everything changed
They're spreadin' blankets on the beach

Yours is the first face that I saw
I Think I was blind before I met you
I don't know where I am
I don't know where I've been
But I know where I want to go
So I thought I'd let you know
That these things take forever
I especially am slow
But I realized that I need you
And I wondered if I could come home

I remember the time you drove all night
Just to meet me in the morning
And I thought it was strange
You said everything changed
You felt as if you just woke up
And you said,
This is the first day of my life
I'm Glad I didn't die before I met you
But now I don't care I could go anywhere with you
And I'd probably be happy

So if you wanna be with me
With these things there's no telling
We'll just have to wait and see
But I'd rather be working for a paycheck
Than waiting to win the lottery

Besides maybe this time it's different
I mean I really think you like me

Last Goodbye- Jeff Buckley

"Kiss me out of desire, baby, not consolation"

I had to return my Zune player today :( I got it because I hate the Apple conspiracy and refused to have another ipod, but the Zune didn't work on my computer, so I had to give it back. Now, I have to buy an ipod.  Curses.

J-Buck is my man.  Seriously, I'm a bit obsessed.  I plan on naming one of my future kids Buckley.  Anywho, this song I think is one of his sweetest.  It's that feeling of not wanting to let someone go but knowing you have to.  Inevitability, I guess. I really wish he was still around.

This is our last goodbye
I hate to feel the love between us die
But it's over
Just hear this and then I'll go
You gave me more to live for
More than you'll ever know

Well, this is our last embrace,
Must I dream and always see your face?
Why can't we overcome this wall?
Baby, maybe it's just because I didn't know you at all

Kiss me, please kiss me
Kiss me out of desire, baby, not consolation
Oh, you know it makes me so angry cause I know that in time
I'll only make you cry, this is our last goodbye

Did you say, "No, this can't happen to me?"
And did you rush to the phone to call?
Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind saying
"Maybe, you didn't know him at all
you didn't know him at all
oh, you didn't know?"

Well, the bells out in the church tower chime
Burning clues into this heart of mine
Thinking so hard on her soft eyes, and the memories
Offer signs that it's over, it's over

No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance)- The Early November

"We're taking time making bad excuses"

My computer got a nasty virus. And then I didn't have any internet (moved into my new apartment.)  I am so sorry.

I feel this band is a little underrated.  They are really good.  Really good melodies and lyrics.  Good for them! Huzzah!

What was I to say I'm already all alone
and there's nothing here except a hole in the wall
What was I to do and how should I know
I was never good when times are changing

One more chance I'd never would react like this
One more time could be time enough to think about it
And one last straw could be strong enough to make this world
or throw away everything

It's time that I go; I can sleep on the road
it wont be soft but it will be on my own
I'm sure that last time I couldn't have been wrong
besides I'm not good with saying sorry

One more chance I'd never would react like this
One more time could be time enough to think about it
And one last straw could be strong enough to make this world
or throw away everything
(Throw away everything)

Just one time is all it takes
one time is all it takes
Timing shows I needed to prove that I am
Just one time is all it takes
Strong enough to be on my own
One time is all it takes
We're taking time with bad excuses
Just one time is all it takes
go to show it to know that everything is all right

One more chance I'd never would react like this
One more time could be time enough to think about it
And one last straw could be strong enough to make this world
or throw away everything

One more chance I'd never would react like this
One more time could be time enough to think about it
And one last straw could be strong enough to make this world
or throw away everything
